Most people who know anything about parrots now understand and accept that the Timneh African Grey is just as talkative as its larger cousin. Its upper beak is black tipped, lower beak solid black, and they are smaller than the Congo Grey, but there stops the big difference. With a tannish wash over the bright red tail feathers, the Timneh's tail appears more maroon than red. Usually less inclined to feather abuse and nervous behaviours the Timneh is becoming a preferred choice on the companion parrot market. These wonderful parrots may learn to talk even earlier than their cousins, and might be more inclined to talk around strangers. For all these reasons the Timneh is fast becoming the popular parrot of choice.
